EMBRACE THE MOMENT

This week I was honoured to present my poem "Acceptance" at Fred C Cook Public School in Bradford thanks to a generous invitation from Errol Lee Caring Concerts and a warm welcome from Principal Madelaine Temmer. I had been invited to observe the motivational assembly in honour of Black History Month. Always ready to collaborate, I accepted the impromptu invitation to share in the event with my poetry reading.

I came away from the event feeling uplifted and inspired by the youth and the welcoming and accepting atmosphere. The obvious importance of these events to embrace inclusion and diversity was reinforced when the children shared the messages they took from the assembly with us:

"be a community leader, everyone matters, educate others, you matter, respect and love each other."
